You Are Not Your Job (at Least in Argentina)

11 June 2009 No Comment

“You are not your job,” says Tyler Durden, a character in Chuck Palahniuk’s  novel, Fight Club, played by Brad Pitt in the accurate film adaption.

While North American readers/audiences might need to hear that, that probably goes without saying in Argentina.

That’s the thesis of American expat, wines guy, and new blogger, Daniel Karlin, in a recent post.

Daniel demonstrates “Qué hacés?” means not “what do you do?” - or even what are you doing, but a vaguer, more casual “what’s up.”
