Every Wednesday, at 3 PM, Carolina Papaleo is hosting a talk show on radio Touché, channel 89.1 FM.  For expats this is a great way to practice your Spanish.  For movie, TV, and theater fans, this is a great way to listen to one of your favorite stars.

Hola,
Next time some tool is messing with you, diss him double with comebacks in English and in Spanish, try this:

“Tiene más punta una pelota”
TRANSLATION: Even a ball is sharper than you, aka you’re an idiot.
HOW IT WORKS: the literal translation is “[It] has more point a ball.” In Spanish, usually the pronoun is inferred. Because tiene is uniquely the 3rd person present form of the verbTENER (to have), the “it” is kind of unnecessary.

Mi Familia es un Dibujo (My Family is a Cartoon) reruns are back on Channel Telefe (channel 11 on Cablevisión, and channel 123 on DirecTV).  The show is fun to watch.  It as a situation comedy with a little drama thrown in.  The basic plot-line is such:

Let’s be honest, when has anyone ever found themselves in a Spanish speaking city and actually needed the phrase “Donde está la biblioteca?” Right?
