No Argentine can honestly say he is Argentine unless he has rooted for Boca Juniors at least once in his life.  No visitor of Buenos Aires can honestly say she has fully experienced Argentine culture unless she has visited La Bombonera(the Boca Juniors stadium).
Maradona Played for Boca.  Palermo plays for Boca.  The Juniors represents the people, the working class, the laborer, the farmer, the rancher, the office worker, the honest person, the immigrant, the Porteño with established roots.  In other words, Boca is Argentina. If you never been to a football (soccer) …

Yesterday, I was strolling up Florida Street (Calle Florida), checking out the tango dancers and the artesian wares laid out on rugs, occasionally stepping into one of the clothing stores to see if I could find a bargain, when I stumbled into a men’s store named Boüzak and found a multifarious line of clothing—suits, sport coats, ties, shirts, dress pants, sweaters, jeans, khakis, t-shirts, belts, and shoes. The stitching on the garments rendered tailor-made, and all of the apparel was stylistically current, but the numbers on the price tags never reached above …

A Great site to follow.

Hola,
Spanish Tip of the day:
Beware of False Friends!
When learning a language, cognates become your best amigo. What are cognates? Cognates are words that have the same meaning, and look the same in two different languages.
Examples: Alcohol = Alcohol, Falso = False, Ofender = Offend…you get the idea.
Now, all is good and fun with these cognates until they become your amigo falso (false friend), such as Embarazada, which actually  means pregnant, not ‘embarassed’!
Other FALSE FRIENDS:
Sensible = Sensitive, sensible
Éxito = Success, exit
Actual = Current, actual
Asistir = To Attend, assist
Atender = To Serve/ To Take Care Of, attend

Mi Familia es un Dibujo (My Family is a Cartoon) reruns are back on Channel Telefe (channel 11 on Cablevisión, and channel 123 on DirecTV).  The show is fun to watch.  It as a situation comedy with a little drama thrown in.  The basic plot-line is such:
An Argentine middle-class married couple has four children they are raising.  Two of the kids are teenagers that are going through the trials of adolescence—young love, rock-n-roll, fitting in with their peers, discovering the meaning of “responsibility.” A third child is an 8-rear-old girl who …
