In Sex, Time, and Power, Leonard Shlain treads through the complex and fascinating interactions between men and women, observing the evolution of female and male sexuality from the prehistoric age through its effects on the progress of our species. It becomes very apparent that in order to understand the current state of male-female relationships, looking at Mother Nature’s …

Publicity flyer for “Blossom”
This is the flyer sent out for publicity by the publisher. The book goes to the printer this week and should be available for sale in the usual places within two to three weeks. I am not sure when the eReader versions will be available, but within a month, I think. This shows the front cover. The back cover continues the same color pattern and offers critical commentary about other of my novels. The copy here is reproduced from the inside front jacket flap. The back jacket …

Yesterday, I was strolling up Florida Street (Calle Florida), checking out the tango dancers and the artesian wares laid out on rugs, occasionally stepping into one of the clothing stores to see if I could find a bargain, when I stumbled into a men’s store named Boüzak and found a multifarious line of clothing—suits, sport coats, ties, shirts, dress pants, sweaters, jeans, khakis, t-shirts, belts, and shoes. The stitching on the garments rendered tailor-made, and all of the apparel was stylistically current, but the numbers on the price tags never reached above …

A great blog to follow:
Hola,
Spanish Phrase of the day:
“meter la pata”
This phrase figuratively translates to the English expression “to put your foot in your mouth” (to say something very embarassing).
HOW IT WORKS: Literally, “meter” is a verb meaning “to put something inside of something” (for example “meter billetas en el cajero” or “to put bills in the ATM”).
And “pata” refers to an animal leg, but can mean “leg” more broadly.
