7 May 2010 No Comment

Friday May 7, 2010 - The Pellegrini Mansión in Recoleta - Ayacucho 1571 at Las Heras

From 7pm to 11pm, live music and original art works will fill the historic space. 0800 Vino will serve reds and whites and Once in Motion will provide the cocktails. CarmelaLola’s will dish up pan-Latin plates for spice to accompany silk screens, oils, and illustrations of the girl group show, taking place in the foyer. Across the garden, dueling banjos and electro-cumbia will take country music across continents and language barriers. An early class by Buena Onda Yoga explores yoga poses for a fresh breath before the music takes over.

The first floor of Mansión Pellegrini is a beautiful foyer and garden courtyard. Belle époque flourishes like French tile and a twisting wooden staircase are the perfect backdrop for an evening of Buenos Aires culture.

In the foyer, Elizabeth Gleeson will present new works in the form of silkscreen prints. In the wood alcove, Silvina Gardonio will exhibit oil paintings in her signature style and Viviana Anaya shows off illustrations created in Casa Arte de San Telmo.

Chancha Via Circuito Djs between sets by Red Eve, Pablo Malaurie, and Spring Lizard, hosted by Sorrel Moseley Williams of BA Live. Pablo Malaurie and Ignacio García perform El Festival del Beso, endearing, high-pitched songwriting accompanied by banjo, toy piano and ukele, through toy amplifiers and other fun. Red Eve, with influences from soul to folklore, presents a new record, inspired by a blend of Northern Argentina and North American nostalgia. Spring Lizard plays earnest Americana from an Argentine perspective.

Buena Onda Yoga starts the evening with an early class for another kind of after office. Send Love BA tops the night off with chocolate bites and cupcakes after all that culture.
